Having completed his articles with auditing firm Cohen & Gmeiner in 1997, Ben immediately embarked on a professional career, founding his multi-disciplinary consulting firm, Ben Engelbrecht & Associates.

Here he served a wide scope of clients ranging from the SMME business sector to some of the largest Collective Investment Schemes in South Africa in various capacities.

In 2011, he retired as an active accounting professional to pursue a brief career in the agricultural sector, where he headed up the financial oversight and reporting function at a multinational agricultural group of 37 companies.

After a brief sabbatical in 2015, he co-founded Fund Five Capital, a structured trade finance firm with a specific focus on the SMME sector. In partnering with Skybound Capital, Ben’s 20 years of relevant professional experience contributes significantly to the trade finance offering.
